Beach combing....

click photo to enlarge

A good day out for me today starting with a bit of "beach combing" but not on my normal sea front but a bit further away near Kalamata.  Then after my people had done their shopping it was off to the cafe near the tennis courts with them for their morning refreshments.  I like it there as there is a lot for me to watch over and I always get a good welcome.......

Very early beach walk

It was up early this morning for the beach walk as over the last few days it has been rather wet in the mornings and that means no beach for me! Mind you there was not much beach to walk on......the waves brought the water so high I had to be extra careful not to get wet.

The Guv was not so careful and I think he got his paws wet,
well I had a good bark!

Not much doing...

There really has not been much happening around my pad over the last few days I can tell you about.  I've had a couple of outings into Kalamata in the poppymobile with my people, a visit to the Guv's favourite cafe and of course the normal morning beach walks.....

This photo was this morning run-a-bout at 0800hrs on one of the beaches at Velika.  Yes we are in for another warm day!

Paris 18-11-2015

We canines know that on earth we take second place to humans and correctly you humans mourn the deaths caused in Paris lately by the terrorist scum. However I must mourn for one of my own also, "Diesel" (shown above) launched an attack on the terrorists in front of his handler despite a hail of bullets from an automatic weapon coming his way......he did not survive he lost his life when the terrorist detonated her explosive vest.

We canines will always protect those who love us

Blue & beautiful

It was back to the beach walk this morning and as the title of today's blog says "it was blue and beautiful".  In saying that I am definitely NOT a water loving dog,  when the Guv takes me in the rain room that's enough for me!

Mind you the day was so hot here I was tempted to cool off but found a nice shady tree instead......

Pearl & plain....

This morning another walk through the olive groves near my house in Greece, and up to have look around this church.  I got there first so had to wait for the Guv (he's older and not as fit as me!), as it was up a steep hill.

It was very small and plain from the outside, but as you can see the inside is amazing........

Groving ...on a sunny afternoon

Well on a sunny morning really, you see over the last few days my morning walk has been through the olive groves that stretch for miles & miles near where I live.  The time has come for the locals to start picking the first olives, so I have to be a bit careful where I go sniffing!

I know the Misses is waiting for the black Kalamata olive to get a bit bigger before she gets the Guv picking and do you know the Kalamata olive is nearly as famous as ME !

My mate REX

Today I had a visit from my friend Rex and one of the humans he looks after. Rex lives next door to me and helps stand guard against intruders, in fact he often comes into my garden especially when I am not there and protects both our houses.  Let me tell you Rex is not a canine to be messed with, but he knows his place when I'm around!

Anyone for tennis?

Quite an interesting day out for me the other day, not only did I get to meet some human friends I had not seen for quite some time, I also got to watch a tennis match!

Mind you I often get taken to this cafe with my people, so much so I am well known there now.  They remember me of course due to my fame as a canine author!  (woof, woof)....

We also remember..

Today whilst humans march and assemble at cenotaphs all over the world we canines remember as well, not just the humans but the tens of thousands of horses and other animals that served our countries during many wars.  I proudly stand to attention in the Greek poppy fields and wear the poppy with pride in remembrance of them....

I'm watching them.....

Well the Guv has not been able to find out if these canines in our village actually are there looking after some humans or if they are homeless.  Clearly last night they must have been cold as they slept on the warm ashes from the bonfire.......I'll keep watch on them.

Bang, Bang ..............

Today I am glad I am in Greece and not in the U.K.  Why?  Because tonight loads of my canines friends will become very, very frightened and I would as well because "Its Guy Fawkes Night".

I hate loud bangs, fireworks, gun shots and even loud motorcycles. When we do have fireworks over here in Greece at Easter time my people either take me out well away from them (that is not always possible), or they have a spray they use around the house that calms me down called "Adaptil".

So if you have pets and are in UK tonight PLEASE don't leave us alone and understand just how frightened we can become........

I'm lucky

Same old beach walk this morning! Mind you I know just how lucky I am compared to many of my canine friends here in Greece and indeed in many other countries of the world.

In fact this morning my people seen two very nice canines in our village that appeared to have been abandoned.  I know the Guv is planning to take a few photographs tomorrow and try to find out if they are actually "dumped dogs" or belong to someone in the village,  I'll let you know.

Wig-wam-bang......

Now this morning on the beach walk I thought I'd take a good look at this "Teepee" some summer tourists had built on the beach, not a bad job either but I recall the Guv telling me a story about the man who built his house on the sand, or was that the one about the three little pigs?  I can't remember!

I sure the Guv meant Teepee and not Pee Pee when he sent me in here!

I got left behind....

Yesterday was a bit wet so no beach walk for me!  However today was different, a bright sunny morning and it was up early and out on the beach for a good run-a-bout.  Mind you my housekeepers then took me back home and cleared off without me!

Now I find they went to meet a friend in Messini, so I could have gone (woof).
I'll get me own back tomorrow on the beach walk I'll shake sand in the poppymobile the Guv has just spent 2 hours cleaning!!!!!
