A GOOD day.....

I forgot to tell you that yesterday my people took me to the torture chamber
I mean dog doctor.   Yes I got "stuck" with a needle again!

However today was a far better day. We all went out for the day, first to meet some Italian friends in Kardamili, then off to Stoupa for lunch.  As normal I did not get anything to eat but got a good look at the holiday makers on the beach..............

The human kennel

Well a delayed beach walk today as the Guv decided to give the "human kennel" a trial outing before our big journey. Not that he took it that far, just to the local town harbour.......oh yes, the white spot in the top photo looking out of the rear window is ME!

Poor pup.....

As you may have read on the Guv's Facebook page during my beach walk this morning we came across this poor pup.  I will not repeat what the Guv has written but it was so frightened when we approached it just lay there and peed itself.

I really wanted to keep it as a pal for me, but understand why we can't......it was all so upsetting really.......

Back to bed

This early morning beach run-a-bout before breakfast just has to stop!
I know the Guv likes to get up early, but it is Sunday......
so when I got home I went back to bed!

Up and out.....

Humans say "the early bird catches the worm", well I did not see any worms and my morning run about on the beach was EARLY.  In fact the sun had only just woke up........

The Guv seldom lays in bed in the morning, mind you I don't really give him a chance to.  Summertime is best, really, really early up and out but in winter I do let him sleep until 0700hrs...!

Cost-a-Lot.....

Well I went out on my morning walk in the olive groves this morning with the Guv but I had to stay at home for the rest of the day alone!  I know my people would take me if they could but today again was very hot and of course if I'm not allowed in places where they are going it's far too hot for me to be left in the poppymobile...

The Misses brought me a "doggy bag" back, so I know they had been out eating!
Mind you I don't think they went on this cruise liner that's anchored in the port at Kalamata today.......Its the Costa Classico, and it would definitely Cost-a-lot, which would be against the Guv's religion!!

You say potato.....

When the Guv was driving to Kalamata the other day I spotted all these humans picking up potatoes from the fields.  Clearly they are not as clever as my Guv, he picks his from the supermarket, much easier and not so back breaking !

another cafe !

Yesterday the Misses had to return to Kalamata and whilst it was rather warm, I was allowed to go as well.  You see if the weather gets very hot the Guv sometimes refuses to let me go with them as not everywhere my people go welcome us canines, and of course in hot weather I can't stay in the poppymobile.

Here though at the yacht club I'm welcome all year round.  I can go inside in the winter or sit outside in the summer.  Outside is best for me as I can have a good nosey around.  Maybe that's why the Misses calls me "Nosey Rosie" !

No shade.....

Another day in Kalamata for me and the Guv as the Misses had some business to attend to.  Mind you it was a bit hot for me today so I took the Guv back to the car park where he had parked the poppymobile in the shade. You see when the chief human of Kalamata redesigned the square he cut down all the big shady trees......barking mad, besides no shade it meant no "convenient" places for my male canine friends either!

Morning bread....

Early out to get my people their morning bread in Petalidi and a walk
around the harbour front for me.

As you can see the "poppymobile" stands alone, the locals are
not out of bed yet !

We're waiting....

The other day the Misses had to go to the tooth doctor so it was an extra long day out for me with the Guv in Kalamata.  We just "chilled out" and sat and waited at this cafe.  Mind you this early in the morning there were not many humans about!

This is my friend...

So as I was saying Rex, my neighbour spent the day with me, little did he know he was in for it!  A good brush up by the Guv.

Most people here are afraid of Rex, he savaged two dogs in the village (mind you I think he had planned that revenge for ages as when he was a pup they came and "got him" !  The other week he ate some of his owner's chickens....I don't think anyone had told him they had to be dead first and then cooked !

Still with me and the Guv he's a pussy cat!  What's more he looks after my pad when I'm away ......

I'm the boss !

The Guv invited my neighbour "Rex" here for the day whilst his people had to go to Kalamata.  He's certainly grown up over the years but he still knows who is in charge in these parts !!!

It's getting HOT....

I thought today I would remind all the people my canine friends look after NOT to leave us in cars (even with the windows partly open).  Just left for SIX MINUTES can cause us so much stress due to heat exhaustion and heat stroke.

With the weather getting hotter now, today it rose to over 24C PLEASE take care of us....

In the grove....

Like normal I got the Guv out of bed at 0700hrs so I could have my early morning walk.  The last few days I have been taken to the olive groves rather than the beach, so a good sniff about in the grass etc for a change.

Of course olive picking has now stopped, as has the hunting so there is nobody in the groves normally, but I have to watch out for a few old fires still burning off the prunings left from the olive harvest.

The Misses always comes with us, but tends to stay in the poppymobile, even on nice warm mornings like this morning!

I'm home...

As you all know I'm back in my homeland.  The Guv has cut all the grass, it's nice and sunny, and I can have a good run around the garden barking all I want!

Now I am told that in a week or so I'm having my mate Rex to stay with me in the day time whilst one of the people he looks after goes into hospital. If you don't remember Rex here's a photo of him taken a little while back.....

He's a bit bigger than me, but he knows who is boss !
