It's Sunday again.....

Well it was another one of those human "sell it off" places again today.  Mind you this one was a bit different with a fair few old tin boxes on wheels on display and lots of field digger uppers also, as you can see....

The Guv was quite happy having a look through a number of stalls that had old car bits for sale and I was happy as there were lots of canines being walked that I could meet.  Not sure about the Misses though!

It's private....

So the next day my people and I continued our trips around more French villages.  This is Feuillade, not much to bark about really as the chateau here is owned privately so I could not go it!

The first place we go to....

As I said yesterday the whole point of taking the human kennel on wheels was so we could all spend time and have a better look around some of the villages really not that far from us. When my people were looking for a new pad we did visit many of these places, but never really spent much time in them.

This is St Estephe, not far from Nontron where there is a large lake, mill house and lots of places for humans to go and enjoy themselves.  It's not bad for us canines either.....

On guard......

As you may have seen from my Guv's Facebook page he and the Misses have been off on a short break viewing a few more French villages in the area, and I was allowed to go as well!
As you can see it was my job to guard the human kennel on wheels, that as when I was not asleep inside it!

A light lunch......

Now I guessed something was up this morning when the Misses started making more food than even I could eat!  True to form I was right, our good friends came around for lunch.  Mind you it was rather hot outside so I was grateful for the cover (under the table). I was also very grateful for the sausage my Swedish friends brought for me, a dog just can't have enough food !

It's shopping day!

Up and out again early this morning but after the morning walk it was off to Riberac market for my people to do some shopping. Today the market was very large even going well down into the main road, I just waited for them to finish then off we went to the Guv's favourite cafe........

Sunday outing....

Well with all this hot weather I've had to take it easy and I've got a bit behind with my blogging!  Last Sunday my people and I went to another brocante (you know one of those things you humans have to sell what you no longer want to other humans who probably will never use it either!).

At least the venue had some shade along the river path, as despite being there very early it still got very hot.....I had to stay on the grass as the gravel could have burnt my feet !

Hot, early morning

Up and out early as normal this morning, good job as well as even at 8.00am it was getting too hot for me to run about in the fields. Some of the farmers were out also as many of the wheat fields have been cut and the remaining straw is now being baled for feed for the winter.

The sunflowers or "tournesol" as the French call them have not all blossomed yet, as you can see but it's still great fun running through them and hiding from the Guv!

I'm a very lucky canine to have all these fields opposite our house to play in!

Up on the roof.....

Despite it being a national holiday today here in France the Guv and I were still up and out early on our morning walk. Afterwards the Guv decided to start painting the outside of our house, I thought I had better keep an eye on him from the bedroom balcony in case he fell off the roof!

A "Borg" breakfast

This morning my people took me to Montboyer for my morning run-a-bout. strange I thought we don't normally come here!  Then I found out why, as after a quick bit of shopping we ended up at Borg's cafe & shop in Baignes Ste Radegonde.  At first I panicked as I remember what The Borg looked liked on T.V., but I need not have worried as the owners were nothing like that

My people had the most enormous breakfast, in fact the Misses could not eat all of hers and she did not save it for me!

As I said the owners we very nice as they let me sit inside and I also met some ladies that were making things out of sheep fur.....I'm going to warn those sheep I see most mornings near my home to be on their guard as they could loose their coats!

Shopping !

Often if my early morning walk includes a trip in the "poppymobile" the Misses goes off shopping whilst the Guv and I have a stroll around.  Mind you why is it female humans take so long shopping?  I get plumb tuckered out waiting!

Lucky dog...

I really know just how lucky a canine I am when I can get up in the morning and be taken for my morning walk with the Guv across fields like these.  What is even better is the fact I know unlike in my homeland of Greece the farmers will not have laid poison down in the fields at random!

I'm not banned

Yesterday I told you about our visit to Verteilliac and the cafe owner who does not like dogs. Well I found something out from the Guv today, people think dogs are banned from food shops and cafes by EU law. This is NOT true, we can enter any food shop or cafe (as long as the owner agrees), we are only banned by EU law from entering the food preparation areas.(EC) No 852/2004, Annex II

So these are a few more photos of me in Verteilliac on Sunday, thought I'd better let the Misses have her photo taken also...don't think it spoils the picture too much  (woof, woof)

No dogs allowed.....

Today my people took me to another one of these markets where humans try and sell things they no longer want.  After a bit of a walk around the Guv, as normal decided it was time for him to stop and have coffee.  We sat outside this cafe in Verteilliac only to have the Guv told off by the owner, who would not serve him, so we had to leave.....

Now I know some humans do not want me inside their premises and I accept that, but this was outside on the pavement......mind you there were enough signs, I think the owner bought the entire stock of "No Dogs" signs from the local village!  In saying that I think the Guv "should have gone to Specsave!"

At the cafe BELOW I was made most welcome.....thank you.
