Shame about the staff !
So when in Confolens my people decided to stop for lunch at the Logis Emeraude. The Misses checked I would be allowed in the restaurant and the lady on the reception desk agreed....Great I thought!
The human eating place looked really nice inside but I don't think the head waiter liked me. Mind you whilst the food looked OK the Guv was not happy as first they forgot to bring my people their drinks and even after a reminder from the Misses in her best french they took a while arriving. Also after my people finished eating the main course it was so long trying to get the dessert, they gave up. Whats more on paying the head waiter could not be bothered to give the Guv the bit of small change owed....Guv did not like that!!!!!

It just took so long for the Guv to get his food I left sorry for him !

As I was saying....
As I said in my previous blog I have posted a few more photographs the Guv took of our visit to Confolens. As the picture shows below due to the heavy rains further north the river is very brown, and definitely not for "Rosie swimming"....(as if I would!)
I don't think the Misses is considering swimming in that either!

Long lanes.....devious dogs
As I lay asleep within my bed
I hear the Guv's loud shout
It's walkies time, Rosie get up!
It's time that we were out.
To humour him I act excited,
I'd rather stay in bed
But after walkies comes the treats
Of tasty morsels that I'm fed.
The lane is long, I give a sigh,
The Guv feels sorry for me.
OK old girl, lets go home
But first go have your wee.
I do as told that obvious thing
And rush back down the lane
I get my breakfast when we get in
I fooled him once again !

as I was saying
Like I told you yesterday the misses has these photographs of her dad (on the far left) that was taken during WWII (Jan 1945) when he was hospitalised in Arque la Bataille and she decided to visit the area to see if she could get a photo of herself in the same position.
It took a bit of "sniffing out" but we found the spot as you can see, the same house in the background but we could not go into the garden of the house opposite as there is now a wall around it.
....and this was the American hospital just up the road, now a private house.
I had to really stretch my neck to see through the gates to get that last photo!

Another day, another site
So on our way back home to France from the UK the misses wanted to visit a place where her father was hospitalised in WWII. You see she has a photo of him standing outside a house that she has the address for and decided to have her photo taken in the exact same spot.
That meant another camp site so we decided to camp in the same town where this house was
Arques-la-Bataille
I'll show you the photo of the misses and the old photo of her father tomorrow

Not a good week
I'm extremely sad, this has not been a good week at all. It started with the Guv getting a message from one of his friends that the canine (Paris) who looked after them had died. Then later this week I get told one of my Facebook canine friends (Rhea, pictured below) had also died. Rhea had not been well for some time but the people she looked after returned that care over many, many months sadly though Rhea's kidneys failed and she left to join our other canine friends over "Rainbow Bridge"
