Mud, Mud glorious mud..............

click photo to enlarge

A few rain storms around over the last few days so I am glad to be able to stay in. The trouble is there are just some things a girls got to do when the need arises so I do have to go out in the rain occasionally.  This presents me with a problem as my people tend to get a bit annoyed with me when I enter the house wet and shake myself dry!

Mind you its not all my fault. Mr Stop'it had a large truck of red dirty delivered a few weeks back and had it spread all over garden, now when that gets wet I get even dirtier.....so its his fault, as you can see for getting my paws and face covered in red mud!

The new tin box

Today we went off again in the new tin box on wheels, I am getting used to the "hammock" Mr Stop'it has put in the rear seat for me now, guess its not too bad and definitely better than being left at home.  The "guv" wanted an estate car with windows in the rear side sections that opened for me;  years ago Volvo made such a design, but now-a-days its impossible to find any car maker (he says) that has this design.

The new tin box looks silver in the photo, but is not. It is quite difficult for a mutt like me to describe as it seems to change colours depending on the light conditions.....then you humans say dogs are colour blind in any case!

A trip in the new car

Breakfast in Stoupa I heard Mr Stop'it say this morning. Now that meant I had to make sure I was not forgotten as I wanted another ride in the new car. Stoupa is a good hour away from us and best of all at this time of year is very quiet as most of the tourists have gone away. So off we set.

Whilst my people tucked into a good English breakfast (despite it coming with an apology for a sausage), one of the local pesky felines tried to make friends with me.  Uh, I stuck my nose in the air.....I'm not letting the side down and going to speak to her. However unbelievably Mr Stop'it gave her a bit of MY sausage.  If this happens again I'll have to sort him out!

Got it wrong !

Being a Greek dog sometimes I do have trouble understanding English I guess.  Let me explain.......
When my people returned after a few days away in the U.K. I heard Mr Stop'it say he had brought me a ham-hock back.   YIPPEE I thought, I love bacon..I want it, I want it!  The problem was it never seemed to materialised. Now I know why.......it was a HAMMOCK !!!!!!

Some time back I told you the "guv" was looking at a new car for the misses, and the other day it arrived. The problem is I tend to make a bit of a mess with my loose blond hairs in the car (why they have to black carpets and seats beats me), so when my people were in the UK they bought me a "hammock" that stretches across the rear seats between the headrests.  Well its better than being left at home when they go out and I have my own seat belt and harness for safety; buts it not as much fun as sticking your head out the window in the wind and barking at people as I go past........................

Food parcels.....

Now as I said my people cleared off without me to the UK for nearly two whole weeks. You see whilst I get taken on the ferry they have never taken me on the airplane, Mr Stop'it says its just far too expensive and traumatic for me.  I really can't see why I can't ride in the cabin seats with them though on the aircraft, I am very good at sitting in a car seat and don't see much difference!

Any how at least they came back with lots of food goodies for me which they can not buy in Greece.  By what I see I may just have enough to last me until I get to go to Britain with them next May!

They're back......

Well I have had a busy two weeks as the people who I look after left me at my friends Pal's house whilst they went off. Pal's people do look after me very well and every morning we went out for a long walk across fields and in the woods. I also met some other canine friends on our walks which we could play with. However, you see Pal is younger than me and I still have to teach him a thing or two.  He is getting better at barking and pretending to attack humans that pass his house, but he still is not as quick to react as I am.  Its actually great fun as many more humans walk pass his house than mine, and I love frightening the local Greeks!  Mind you I think Pal's people sometime get annoyed with us and we get told off.  Then we have our own back on them and chase through the garden wrecking their shrubs............

Now I'm back in my house and totally tired out, so I am going to have a nice long sleep

Lest we forget.....

I wear my poppy with pride.  I know Remembrance Day is about remembering humans that have given their lives in war time so we may live free today, but being canine I must ask you also to remember all of my ancestors that served and gave their lives as well.  Below I have attached some very interesting articles that many may not have considered.  My ancestors served the war effort in many, many ways often going places where humans could not, often sacrificing their lives to save that of their masters........

No fireworks for me..............

Well this is another odd custom you humans have I must say.  Celebrating by burning a "guy" and spending lots of money buying things to set on fire and make loud noises. If you want to burn something, why not buy lots of wood and coal and then I can benefit too by sleeping in front of a nice fire instead of sitting here thinking of all my poor canine friends back in Gt Britain being frightened to death by noisy fireworks......

I think it even more odd you all celebrate the death of poor old Guy Fawkes, after all he only tried to do what lots of you Brits want to do now

Burn the government out !!!!!!!

Its Howl-o-ween

Well I guess it going to be great fun tonight, so I thought I would get into the howl-0-ween spirit with some of my mates. Thats me on the far left.  Those of you who read my blog on a regular basis will know just how much I hate humans with sticks (that is because in my early life before Mr & Mrs Stop'it adopted me I was beaten so much), so tonight any humans that come my way with broom sticks or the like will be very sorry!

Oh yes and if they are a bit big for me to handle I can always call in support from my mate Pal..............

K9 for F1........

Another good start to a sunny day and romp around the beach, even Mrs Stop'it joined me on the beach this morning.  After my run about the "Guv" had lots of business things to do so I got left in the car alone a few times.  Its OK this weather as its not too hot for me, one thing thank goodness my people are always careful of especially out here in Greece.  When they do leave me alone though I "break through" the plastic partition Mr Stop'it has built to keep me in the rear, that way I can pretend to be the driver and sit in the Guv's seat. Mind you I do get a telling off when he gets back!
