He's a big boy...

OK I'm confused again.  I thought that being in Hereford this would have been a Herefordshire bull.  If it is why is it black, Herefordshires are brown and white, aren't they?  The Guv then tells me that there is crossbreed (bit like me I guess) between a Herefordshire & Aberdeen Angus called a "Black Baldy" !

Another iconic structure in Hereford, the bridge not me!
(Oh look I can see a sexy Bulldog over there)

At last a sit down and a rest at the human drinks shop

Off I jolly well go....

So after the Guv finished hunting down his ancestry (and there were lots of villages & churches we visited) off we went to Hereford to stay with our friends who have a camp site there.  I was really lucky as I had loads of room to run about in several great big fields.....

This is our new "human kennel on wheels".  Loads more room inside than the previous one...oh yes the plastic over the carpet is because of ME !

More bones.....

We spent quite a long time in Chilmark, the Guv looking up his distant relatives and in fact he found all these graves (7 in all) that were direct relatives.  I think with that pedigree I'll enter him for "Crufts" next year!

There was even a housing estate named after the Guv's relatives that once farmed the area.

No bones for me....

As I said in my earlier blog when we go to the U.K. the Guv normally goes via the Channel Tunnel. This time he wanted to head for the South West and visit some villages where his ancestors lived hence the Le Harve-Portsmouth ferry. One village we went to was Chilmark and I was allowed a look around the churchyard, provided I promised not to to dig up any old bones!

The plaque on the wall shows the burial place place of Henry Fricker who died in 1666.
He was the Guv's  11h generation Grandfather.

Hi Di Hi......

For the second night in the U.K. my people planned a few days stop over at a very good camp site next to Salisbury race course.  There was loads of room for me to run around (on the camp site not the racecourse!)

The Guv told me not to tell my readers about the first night but I will tell you. You see the ferry did not dock until late in the night and no camp sites would let us in, so the Guv resorted to his old career and decided to "inspect" a big supermarket car park!

The ferry best for me...

My readers will know that when we go to Britain the Guv normally takes the train through the Channel Tunnel  so this was the first time with Brittany Ferries for us.  I must say the service was great, lined up to be first off and right next to the lift so we could get to our cabin.

Now my people always take my bed with them for me when we travel,
but when there's another option I'd be mad to miss it, wouldn't I?

Police escort.....

I am not sure if the French police escort to our ferry was because I (a VIP, or should that be a VID?) was on board or was it to make sure the Guv leaves France!

Certainly there were lots of humans watching from the beach as we left all getting their top up tan.  I don't understand why you humans want to be brown when you could be nice and white like me....

The first day....

Now you all know I've been on holiday with my people.  After leaving our pad the first stop was to a familiar camp site in Messe.  You see the Guv and the Misses have made good friends with the owner, so we always have a stop over there.

Then it was off to Le Harve, human kennel in tow and for the first time a trip on Brittany Ferries. They had a special cabin reserved for me and even left a present for my arrival....
