Happy New Year

I want to wish all my blog readers and canine friends a very
HAPPY NEW YEAR

Please though do not buy or set off fireworks tonight as
it frightens so many of my canine friends.  Likewise do
not send up into the air lanterns as the wires fall to the ground
often in fields where cattle and other livedstock graze.

SAVE that money and perhaps make a donation to your
local rescue center.....start the New Year right!

Daisy, lap dog

Well Christmas was spend rather quiet here in France with my people but both Daisy and I were treated to a bit of duck for dinner!
Mind you as you can see Daisy tended to "hog" the Guv all the time
Me......well I just slept dinner off !

Happy Christmas

The Guv's blog

The Guv asked me to publish HIS blog today as for some reason Facebook has banned him from doing so !!

My Christmas day blog

This Christmas day's dog walk early morn
Gave me time to think when Christ was born,
When kings traversed the lands afar
Just guided by one loney star.

The inns were full, no rooms existed
But Joseph he continually insisted
and space was found in that stable forlorn
Where the Christ child soon was to be born.

How lucky we are in life today,
Our children are not born in that way.
Except if you live under human oppression
In countries where dicators rule with agression.

So give a thought on this special day
To those that suffer in that way.
Mankind must live without division
No matter what colour, nationality or religion!

New walk

This has become quite a regular walk for Daisy and me at present as the missus has to go to the human vet twice a week in this village. The Guv takes us off to have a good sniff around this park area with a very old windmill that was built in the 1700's. That's even before the Guv was born !!!!!!

Too loud !

Daisy, don't make so much noise !!!

I'm comfortable...

Now after stopping a few nights around Lake Maggiore it was just one more nights stop in Italy before we board the ferry. As you can see once on board both Daisy and I have our beauty sleep in comfort!

I'm sad......

I have been told today by the Missus that one of my oldest friends has gone over "Rainbow Bridge".  We played together as puppies over 10 years ago in Greece and initially when I was rescued his people took me in until the Missus and the Guv could return to Greece.

Whilst it is hard for me, but it is even harder for "Pal's" mum and dad
I send them my love and big licks.

Off we went again

After Lake Annecy my people took us to Lake Maggiore which was really much better but still was a bit busy for our liking.

One thing though the human kennel we stayed at was really good it had big rooms and a spare room for Daisy and me. What is more just up the road was a great forest walk with lots of smells to sniff at.

Not a "Fairground Attraction"

I forgot to tell you all about our first stop at Saint Sauves on our way to Lake Annecy. The first two photos show where the Guv had booked the night. Well we thought a nice small French village with easy parking right outside.

When we arrived my people were far from happy.  All the roads were blocked off and all the parking spaces and streets were full of fairground rides! The Guv squeezed the "tin box on wheels" through the narrow streets and through the barriers parking right by the hotel side door.

Another couple in their tin box did the same. The hotel person came out and we were told to park way up the street.....the other people did but their was no moving the Guv.

As you can see in this photo from our bedroom window one of the fairground rides was very near us, but so was the Guv's car for the night

Homesick ?

Gone are the morning walks on a warm Greek beach,
Goodbye to the olive groves, their leaves sun bleached.
Back to the countryside with fields all bare
Now morning walks are brisk with a chill in the air.

Daisy and I dance through fields damp from mist,
Spider webs hang off the weeds that exist.
Hunters are heard in the distance shooting their prey,
Daisy and I make sure we keep well away!

Tractors leave marks on the dark muddy soil
Gone are the crops that grew to make oil.
Winter is here, our fur coats now grow thick
Perhaps for Greece I grow a little homesick!

Annecy.......

One of the places the Missus wanted to see on our way to Greece was Lake Annecy.  Well what a let down! It was far too busy and with the Covid pandemic that you humans seem to have invented my people decided just to have a drive around the lake but not stop there for dinner.

I'm back

It's been a while since I last wrote a blog but you see Daisy and I have been away visiting our homeland. Whilst I am a very experienced traveller and over the last 10 years have been on the ferry from Italy to Greece and back many times this is the first time Daisy has returned to our place of birth.

I think she's a good a traveller like me and  she soon got the hang of how to commandeer the sleeping bunks !

Seaside walk

I know I have not "blogged" much lately but I'll tell you more about that in a few weeks time.  Meanwhile I thought I would share a couple of photos of me and Daisy on one of our seaside walks.  Oh yes perhaps I should mention the Missus also, she's wearing my "T" shirt.....

Tuesday 31 August 2021

A walk in the forest

A really different walk the other morning for Daisy and me. Passed a few other canines who did just not understand my "bark" language

Sunday 22 August 2021

Who's sleeping in MY bed?

The missus sometimes complains that the Guv takes up too much bed space, well I know how she feels. Not only has Daisy taken too much bed space, she has taken MY BED !
I'll have to make do with her small bed !

Get Out!

As you can see this is not me but my companion "Daisy".

There we were sniffing around in the Guv's garage and we got told to "get out". Now I understand when the Guv says something you do it!
Daisy on the other hand either does not understand or just does not want to understand.  Being a Greek dog like me is no excuse, the Guv shouts :-

in English "Get out", Daisy does not move.
in Greek  he shouts "μαθεύομαι" Daisy does not move
in German he shouts "Raus" and Daisy moves....

but I think she again misunderstood and goes to the "Rhus"

Thursday 22 July 2021

That'll tell them !!

Woof woof, the Guv had this special metal plaque made with me on it!

Tuesday 20 July 2021

Extra early........

Extra early walk this morning as the Guv said the road will become too hot for our paws.  The farmer has cut the wheat fields across from my pad so now we can have a good run around

Tuesday 6 July 2021

"The Sun has got his hat on"

Well its about time we were able to sunbathe. Daisy (above) prefers the corner of one of the patios. Me, well I'll just lie here on the grass and tan the underneath bits.....

Friday 25 June 2021

Let it all hang out.......

Some times I think I'm being taken advantage of !  Definitely a case of "whose been sleeping in my bed"

Sunday 6 June 2021

Sunday morning sidewalk.......but no Cash.

Up and out early each day keeps me and Daisy fit, mind you I can't run as fast as Daisy anymore.  The Guv now lets Daisy off her leash and she seems to know how to behave, but I also keep her in check when necessary.

Think the Guv is lagging behind somewhere !
