New walk

This has become quite a regular walk for Daisy and me at present as the missus has to go to the human vet twice a week in this village. The Guv takes us off to have a good sniff around this park area with a very old windmill that was built in the 1700's. That's even before the Guv was born !!!!!!

I'm comfortable...

Now after stopping a few nights around Lake Maggiore it was just one more nights stop in Italy before we board the ferry. As you can see once on board both Daisy and I have our beauty sleep in comfort!

I'm sad......

I have been told today by the Missus that one of my oldest friends has gone over "Rainbow Bridge".  We played together as puppies over 10 years ago in Greece and initially when I was rescued his people took me in until the Missus and the Guv could return to Greece.

Whilst it is hard for me, but it is even harder for "Pal's" mum and dad
I send them my love and big licks.

Off we went again

After Lake Annecy my people took us to Lake Maggiore which was really much better but still was a bit busy for our liking.

One thing though the human kennel we stayed at was really good it had big rooms and a spare room for Daisy and me. What is more just up the road was a great forest walk with lots of smells to sniff at.

Not a "Fairground Attraction"

I forgot to tell you all about our first stop at Saint Sauves on our way to Lake Annecy. The first two photos show where the Guv had booked the night. Well we thought a nice small French village with easy parking right outside.

When we arrived my people were far from happy.  All the roads were blocked off and all the parking spaces and streets were full of fairground rides! The Guv squeezed the "tin box on wheels" through the narrow streets and through the barriers parking right by the hotel side door.

Another couple in their tin box did the same. The hotel person came out and we were told to park way up the street.....the other people did but their was no moving the Guv.

As you can see in this photo from our bedroom window one of the fairground rides was very near us, but so was the Guv's car for the night

Homesick ?

Gone are the morning walks on a warm Greek beach,
Goodbye to the olive groves, their leaves sun bleached.
Back to the countryside with fields all bare
Now morning walks are brisk with a chill in the air.

Daisy and I dance through fields damp from mist,
Spider webs hang off the weeds that exist.
Hunters are heard in the distance shooting their prey,
Daisy and I make sure we keep well away!

Tractors leave marks on the dark muddy soil
Gone are the crops that grew to make oil.
Winter is here, our fur coats now grow thick
Perhaps for Greece I grow a little homesick!

Annecy.......

One of the places the Missus wanted to see on our way to Greece was Lake Annecy.  Well what a let down! It was far too busy and with the Covid pandemic that you humans seem to have invented my people decided just to have a drive around the lake but not stop there for dinner.

I'm back

It's been a while since I last wrote a blog but you see Daisy and I have been away visiting our homeland. Whilst I am a very experienced traveller and over the last 10 years have been on the ferry from Italy to Greece and back many times this is the first time Daisy has returned to our place of birth.

I think she's a good a traveller like me and  she soon got the hang of how to commandeer the sleeping bunks !
