What a corker !

Well I must say that grumpy guy in Poudenas not only did my people a favour by refusing to serve them lunch, but did me a favour also.  We stopped at this very good human eating place in Mezin just a bit further along and my people had a very good lunch, including free wine!  What is more there was so much of it that some got put in a doggy bag for me to eat later...

After lunch we had a look around the village square and church

The photo below is that of the school house that now houses the cork museum. In the 1800's the area had no less than 50 bouchonneries each employing around 5 humans making corks. Guess that was very important considering all the wine that is produced here.

Poo to Poudenas

We actually stopped here, (at the top photo not the bottom one....well what would you expect from the Guv!) When I say stopped it was planned to stop for lunch, but the waiter / chef was just as useful as the stuffed doll outside his restaurant. Even though it was only one o'clock when the Missus asked him if we could eat he replied with a grumpy NON....

Religious pedlar 😁

As I promised yesterday I have posted some rather unusual photos of one of the churches in La Bastide d'Armagnac.  Up until I saw this church I never understood why the Guv often shouted "Blessed Cyclists !" when trying to pass a bicycle when driving.

What's more I now also understand from the photo below why he sometimes uses certain words at them.

....and I can only guess that these cyclist come here when its very hot, as they all seem to leave their jerseys behind.  Mind you on second thoughts its probably just because many suffer from amnesia,  I know that as some can't remember the highway code when on the road!

This place is OLD......

This was the next town we visited Bastide d'Armagnac. It was founded at the end of the 13th century by the Count of Armagnac but look as the Guv did the Count did not leave any Armagnac around!

I'm not sure how he managed it but the Guv did not stop for coffee here!

Tomorrow I'll show you some very special photos of this town

Piglet was not there !

On our second day the Guv told me we were going to " Eauze ".  Wow I thought, a donkey sanctuary, until the Missus corrected his pronunciation (which she always has to do) and I realised it was a visit to another town.

Needless to say my people stopped and had coffee there......

..... I was allowed to have a good look around the church as well

Gone to Gondrin....

On our first evening my people went for their evening meal at Gondrin, the nearest village to our camp site.  Looking at the photo the Missus took of the Guv he must stop eating so many olives.......olive trees are starting to grow out of his head !

We had a walk around around the village and I found a few friends to bark to, mind you they needed a good wash so I decided not to play with them

Nice and quiet out of season, could be a bit busy for us canines in summer though!

A camping we will go......

Guess you have all been missing me?  OK may be not.  Well I've been off camping with the Missus and the Guv and of course I'm proud of my job as chief caravan guard! Mind you it was blooming hot with temperatures in the 30's I had to often take cover under the human kennel on wheels....
Over the next few days I'll show you some of the places I've been to
Today's photos are of the camp site we stayed at near Gondrin, South West France

Couvige or coven?

Well yesterday the Guv and I had the day to ourselves as the Missus went to this lace couvige. Not that I minded going along but the Guv was not too keen as the only lace he understands is the kind he ties his boots on with !

The monsters are back!

I kept a very low profile today as the monsters that eat everything in sight appeared. A few months ago the fields around my pad were covered in bright yellow sunflowers, last month they all dipped their heads and turned brown. Today the monster came and gobbled them all up!

I think this monster gobbled too much up as you can see he is being sick :)

My day out

As I was saying yesterday I was able to go to this classic event with my people along with our neighbour.

Well I found the Indian, but no cowboys!

I think he lost his onions & garlic !

This female was so excited she's jumping for joy!

One each here for Michael Gambon, Rupert Davies and Rowan Akinson

Up and out

Blimey the Guv was up and out early this morning with me, nearly before the sun got up. Mind you it was worth it as straight afterwards we get off in the "tin box" with a dog's name to a classic car event.  I'll tell you about it in my next blog...
