The first day....

Now you all know I've been on holiday with my people.  After leaving our pad the first stop was to a familiar camp site in Messe.  You see the Guv and the Misses have made good friends with the owner, so we always have a stop over there.

Then it was off to Le Harve, human kennel in tow and for the first time a trip on Brittany Ferries. They had a special cabin reserved for me and even left a present for my arrival....

I'm back.....

After my long trip to the U.K. with my people I'm back in my French home.  I need to get a bit of sleep tonight, but from tomorrow I'll tell you all about it.

I just found out why I got "stuck" with a needle yesterday.  

My people are taking me on holiday to the U.K.......yeah

I'm stuck

So I get taken out for what I thought was my second walk of the day and I end up here.  Sure as my name is Rosie I got stuck with a needle again! I am beginning to think my people are masochists and just can not see how it's for my own benefit as the Guv says.....

OK these are the last photos I'll post for St Yrieix-la-Perch, but the Misses wanted to get in the picture!  Below is a photo the Guv found of how one of the streets looked many years back (probably about the time the Guv was born !) So he took a photo of how the street looks today (bottom photo)

I'll continue today showing you some of the photos my people took when we went to St Yrieix-la-Perche. As I said even I as a canine thought the town was interesting with lots of coffee shops for my people to enjoy...

Like I said yesterday in my next few blogs I will post some more photographs of St. Yrieix-la-Perche as it was quite an interesting place with plenty of quaint streets for a dog like me to sniff around.

It was a bit early in the day for my people to have lunch but after a look around we did stop at a cafe....I'll show you that tomorrow...

I'll not COW TOW (kowtow)

Well I have a lot of photos to show you from our visit to St Yrieix-la-Perche, so I'll show you over the next few days.  This town is famous for making china, so I would have thought it not wise to have 12 cows near a china shop!

No Commandery to command !

Now some of you will know that both my housekeepers were admitted to The Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of St John of Jerusalem (The Order of St. John) many years back. The Misses is a Serving Sister in The Order and the Guv a Commander of The Order. (For my French friends " L'ordre très vénérable de l'Hopital de Saint-Jean de Jérusalem).

Well I know my history, and the Knights Hospitaller fought long and hard alongside the Knight Templar in The Holy Land.  When a knight had achieved a number of "caravans" (no not human kennels on wheels like the Guv has), a name given to a trip / crusade to the Holy Land, he was often given charge of a Commandery.   This church is the only part of Commandery of Malleyrand that is left.....

So back to my little trip around the villages near us, here I am at the Memorial to the French Resistance in the village of Chasseneuil-sur-Bonnieure. My people told me funds were raised to build this by locals selling postcards, woof woof that's a lot of cards to sell!
